Berry Baskets : One Day Workshop with Louise Brown

£75 per person

A basket with many names, many uses! This little basket is a lovely easy one to make in a day. You will learn a host of basketmaking techniques so this is an ideal introduction before tackling a larger, more traditional basket next time!

The Berry Basket has been a popular basket at my workshops and I have found many students like to alter the shape or size of it and so other variations have come into being; whatever you like to call it, it is a sweet, simplified basket that is full of charm, whether you fill it with berries, eggs, or other foraged items.

The price of this workshop includes all materials and use of tools.

This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, but please bear in mind that a certain amount of manual strength and dexterity is required when working with willow.  All projects covered on my workshops have been selected for their relative simplicity and suitability for beginners.  Throughout the workshop participants may need to use specialist basketry tools (provided), many of which are either sharp or pointed, so a sensible approach to personal safety is essential!

work apron is recommended or clothes you don’t mind getting a bit messy in.

At this time, we are regretfully unable to offer refreshments ourselves, however you are welcome to bring your own to enjoy. There is a cafe on site should you wish to purchase a drink or snack before or after the workshop.

Face masks are compulsory whilst moving around the workshop, however you may remove these whilst sat at your workbench.

Hand sanitiser and cleaning products are provided in the workshop.

At this time, workshop places are kept to between 6-8 participants, depending on the workshop, to ensure a comfortable and safe working environment.
